Best Sims 4 Kits

Highlights

  • Game Kits in The Sims 4 are like Stuff Packs and only contain Create-a-Sim or Build and Buy items, providing extra content without major gameplay changes.
  • There are a total of 25 kits available, each with a specific theme and a range of creative items to spice up the game.
  • Some kits, like Country Kitchen and Bathroom Clutter, add new and well-designed items that enhance the gameplay experience, while others, like Desert Luxe and Everyday Clutter, may not offer as much variety or useful items.

There are a lot of extras players can buy for The Sims 4: Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs give players plenty of extra content to choose from. A recent addition to The Sims 4 is Game Kits. These are kind of like Stuff Packs, in that they only contain Create-a-Sim or Build and Buy items, rather than introducing anything major to the gameplay. Kits are pretty cheap, and they’re a nice way to spice up the game without spending too much.

There are a lot of Kits to choose from in The Sims 4. Here, every one of them has been ranked. These Kis add some nicely designed, well-thought-out items to the game, with a strong theme for each one.

Updated October 21, 2023 by Alexandra O’Leary: Throughout its longstanding existence, The Sims 4 has offered a massive range of DLC content, through both kits and packs. With no current announcements concerning the release date for The Sims 5, The Sims 4 is still very much receiving new releases.

Kits are a brilliant way to keep the game feeling fresh and exciting, and there’s a huge range of creative ones on offer. A total of 25 kits are presently available, including fashion kits like Moonlight Chic and item kits like Book Nook. All of them are fantastic in their own right, but some are more worth it than others.

25 Country Kitchen

The Country Kitchen Kit in The Sims 4

The Country Kitchen Kit is similar to the Cottage Living Expansion Pack: if players love that homely, rustic, cozy vibe, this is the one to go for. Standout items include the retro fridge and retro cooker, which look much prettier than the usual fridges and cookers available in The Sims 4.

The focus on the kitchen means players will get a wide range of cabinets and wall shelves, which makes it easy to create that cluttered, homely look. In fact, the kit introduces some new clutter items, including an oven dish, bread bin, and some flowers. (A bonus tip: use the cheat bb.moveobjects to rotate and arrange clutter in a more natural way).

24 Bathroom Clutter

The Sims 4 Bathroom Clutter Kit: A mother speaks to her child in a bathroom decorated with wall decals, stains and various bathroom utensils like a shaver and toothpaste

Bathroom Clutter is a fun pick for Sims who spend a lot of time at home, and perhaps have a big family of all different ages. It offers items like false teeth in a cup of water, toothpaste tubes, and new floor mats.

The main draw of Bathroom Clutter is the added choice for bathroom decor, but other than that it doesn’t add much that the standard The Sims 4 doesn’t already have. If players are invested in creating a vivid bathroom scene then it might be a good choice.

23 Everyday Clutter

The Sims 4 Everyday Clutter Kit: Two people in a messy room, with a laptop, coffee cups, headphones and general clutter around them

Everyday Clutter is a good option for players who want to add a ‘lived-in’ feel to their homes. It adds a bunch of unique items that give the impression of busy Sims who have places to be and no time to tidy. It makes a house feel a little more personal and individual, with items like a phone and keys, coffee cups, and a busy bag hook.

Although these items are still great additions to the game, overall it doesn’t add much to the decor of a Sim house. It might be the right choice for some, but for others, it can just end up making their Sim house look messy and cluttered. It depends on the atmosphere players want, but there are better kits out there to show personality.

22 Desert Luxe

Desert Luxe Kit: five chic individuals, having drinks and laughing in an outdoor patio area with a bar and massive fireplace

Desert Luxe is a kit for specific individuals who like a minimalist, earthy look to their Sim home. It adds various household items like a fireplace and sunbed, as well as decorative things like curtains and lampshades. They all have a very specific style to them that does tie in with neutral desert chic.

There aren’t many items in the kit, and all of them are so specific that unless players are looking for this distinct style, most of them aren’t very useful. Other kits offer a little more variety in their theme and would blend in better with other Sim house items.

21 Basement Treasures

Basement Treasures Kit: a man leaving a cluttered basement, with an old striped sofa, an old chair, a trunk and crates

Basement Treasures is a good option for thrifty players or those who want to create a spooky attic for their Sims to explore. It’s full of dusty, old-fashioned items like a crate of vinyls, black and white photos, and chests. It has all the makings of a haunted house or dark thriller playthrough.

Even though Basement Treasures opens up a new style of gameplay that lends itself well to players who like to create storylines for their Sims, there’s not too much in the kit that gamers would put anywhere else in the house. It is marketed for a basement, and that’s certainly where most of this stuff would stay.

20 Pastel Pop

The Sims 4 Pastel Pop Kit: A Sim wearing bunny slippers reading in her pastel pink and purpleroom

Pastel Pop caters to a certain style of home and, as the name suggests, keeps to pastel colors. There are a bunch of items in this kit that are very different from standard The Sims 4 items, meaning they’ll change up the vibe of a Sim house. Some items included are adorable wall decorations, a funky mirror, and a rock salt lamp.

Like most interior design kits, this selection of items may only appeal to certain players. Those who want more sleek looks will have a hard time finding much in this kit to place in their home. On the whole, some items would easily slot into a pre-existing Sim house, meaning they’re pretty versatile decorations.

19 Modern Menswear

The Sims 4 Modern Menswear Kit

The lack of stylish menswear in the base game is something many players have pointed out over the years. Modern Menswear attempts to fill that gap with a decent range of CAS items in a subtle color palette.

Standout items include the leather jacket and the check shirt. Some of the pieces are pretty out there, however: the pants look kind of weird, and there could be a wider selection of patterns.

18 Industrial Loft

The Industrial Loft Kit in the Sims 4

In contrast to the more homely packs, Industrial Loft adds some modern items ideal for apartments. Inspired by industrial lofts in Brooklyn, there are some very nice items in this kit, including wood-and-steel beds and sofas, and some cool, chunky wall decorations. The neon lighting is a particularly nice touch.

The best thing about the Industrial Loft Kit is the windows and doors. If players like large, almost floor-to-ceiling windows, they will enjoy the items on offer in this kit. The sliding doors are nice, too. The whole pack works well with the City Living Expansion Pack.

17 Throwback Fit

Time to get retro! Throwback Fit is a clothing-based kit with some excellent retro items. A common complaint about The Sims 4 is the lack of nice casual clothing, but this kit adds some key items that players can use again and again. The hoodies and crop tops look great, and the bucket hats are a nice nod to the ’90s.

There are some children’s items available too, including tracksuits and an adorable sunflower bucket hat. The footwear is incredible, with some ’80s-style sneakers in rainbow colors for all Sims to enjoy.

16 Decor to the Max

A colorful room in The Sims 4 Decor to the Max

This is not a pack for minimalists! Decor to the Max adds some eclectic items to the mix, in a range of bold patterns. The carpets and wallpapers are interesting, with the tiger-patterned wallpaper being a good choice for feature walls.

Also available are statement lamps, rugs, and some extremely colorful sofas. Ideal if players want to build a mansion stuffed with interesting treasures to find, or a modern apartment with a few standout items. The fireplace is a good addition to the game, and it has some great color swatches to match any room.

15 Fashion Street

Four Sims pose in the Fashion Street Kit

Fashion Street introduces a bunch of new clothing to the game, including bright, flowing fabrics and accessories. Inspired by the fashion of Mumbai, players can expect bright clothing in contemporary cuts and some fun accessories.

The jewelry is particularly great: think beautiful dangly earrings, sparkling bangles, and nose rings. Plus, it introduces some new Henna hand tattoos to the game. Fashion Street has some amazing items, and it’s well worth introducing to the game if players want some new clothing in Create-A-Sim.

14 Carnaval Streetwear

The Sims 4 Carnaval Streetwear Kit

Bright, bold, and in-your-face, this isn’t the most subtle Kit out there, but if players are longing for standout clothing, it’s a good choice. Designed with Brazillian singer-songwriter Pabllo Vittar, this kit is meant to celebrate Brazil’s festival, Carnaval. It has some summer-appropriate clothing for Sims, with a neon color palette.

This kit is great because it includes bold make-up, nails, and accessories; if players are fed up with the base game make-up, this is a good fix. It would have been good to have new hairstyles included in this kit, but overall, it’s a well-designed collection.

13 Moonlight Chic

The Sims 4 Moonlight Chic Kit: A woman in army pants and a cropped green top takes a selfie on a Parisian style street, three people chat and laugh behind her

Moonlight Chic is a great option for cosmopolitan, romantic players who want stylish outfits and dreamy interactions. It’s a fashion pack that boasts 33 new items of clothing, all of them reminiscent of Parisian nightlife. Some options include shiny crop tops, a beautiful slip dress, and a racer jacket.

There’s no real downside to this kit unless players simply don’t like the style of clothing. There are a lot of different items for the price, and it can easily add an entirely new, cool vibe to a Sim.

12 Incheon Arrivals

Sims 4 Incheon Arrivals Kit: Two stylish people in the forefront, dressed in neutral cardigans and earthy tops. Behind them a couple chat outside a cafe.

Incheon Arrivals adds a fresh, modern style to the Sim wardrobe. Incheon is a city in South Korea, and this kit draws inspiration from its oversized, neutral streetwear scene. Items like its long skirts, cozy cardigans, and jackets make it a brilliant kit to modernize a Sim and give them an undeniably chic edge.

This is a great kit for any player since the items can easily be mixed with standard Sim clothing to elevate it. Some items can be used for casual and fancy outfits, although it may leave players jealous of their Sim’s fit.

11 Greenhouse Haven

Sims 4 Greenhouse Haven Kit: A man looking overwhelmed in the middle of a greenhouse

The Greenhouse Haven kit is a good option for players with a green thumb Sim, especially since it can be incorporated into traits and careers. It features various building items, as well as accessories all good greenhouses need, like pots, soil, and watering cans.

It has 27 items total, each of them perfect for a big garden or greenhouse. Players looking to create vivid, realistic outdoor areas will have a field day with this kit.

10 Grunge Revival

Sims 4 Grunge Revival Kit: A woman takes a selfie in front of her three friends, one of which is playing a guitar

Grunge Revival is another wonderful fashion pack that adds a great selection of grunge-style clothes for pop-punk lovers and fashion icons. It adds great pieces like alternative beanies and Y2K crop tops. It’s one of the best packs for fashion-forward players who want contemporary Sims.

Although this kit doesn’t add as many items of clothing as some other kits, the items are well-designed and will likely leave some players feeling nostalgic. They’re perfect for giving a Sim that anti-establishment, punk vibe and making sure they keep up with the times.

9 Poolside Splash

Sims 4 Poolside Splash Kit: Six Sims modelling different swimwear from the kit, including a child in a rubber ring and armbands

Poolside Splash is perfect for players with a social Sim who thrive in the summer sun. It features a range of clothing and accessories that add to the already great swimwear options. Pool parties will never be the same with this kit, which includes adult and child inflatables, new swimsuits, and pool-side cover-ups.

This kit is a great option for players who want their Sims to look chic as they strut beside their pool. There’s a great selection of swimsuits and colors, and the accessories are perfect for adding a bit more personality to each Sim.

8 Little Campers

The Sims 4 Little Campers

For players who enjoy family gameplay, this is a very cute kit. Players can use this kit to create the perfect backyard camping experience for kids, from blanket forts to projectors to sweet little camping chairs. It’s designed to have a DIY aesthetic, with plenty of sheets, cardboard, and fairy lights.

This kit is nice because it feels authentic. It’s as though kids have made some of these items themselves (with the help of parents). Kid Sims can roast marshmallows around the campfire and create happy memories in their backyard with this kit.

7 Simtimates

Simtimates Kit for The Sims 4

A common complaint among Sims players is the lack of choice when it comes to underwear. Many players are pretty bored with those heart-patterned boxers at this point! The Sims team worked with MeUndies for this kit, and the results are pretty good. It includes new underwear designed to suit all body shapes, ranging from the sophisticated to the… less so (Eggplant boxers, anyone?).

This is a pretty fun one to pick up for a few dollars, and it includes some nice sleepwear. Overall it’s a decent kit and fills a gap in CAS that hasn’t been addressed in previous kits or packs.

6 First Fits

Sims 4 First Fits Kit: A playground full of kids in stylish outfits, like cameo jackets and overall dresses, frolicking around

First Fits is a great kit for family Sims with any amount of kids. It’s a fashion kit that adds a plethora of stylish kid’s clothes for fashionable parents to put their kids in. It gives kids a bit more dimension, and some of the options are perfect for teens in those years when they’re not quite kids but not yet adults.

There’s no downside to this kit unless players don’t have kids in their game. Other than that, the chic sweaters and shirts are great choices for child outfits, and the accessories even include socks, shoes, and sunglasses.
