Welcome to the Kenway Family Legacy, starting off let’s introduce the family’s founder, Edward James Kenway.
His traits are: Family Orientated, Loves Outdoors and Loner.
His aspiration is the Curator Aspiration.
Edward was born in the old country, in a coastal town of Swansea back in Wales, to English parents, Henry and Agnes Kenway. He and his family lived there happily for a time until when Edward was 10, his father decided to uproot the family, moving around a lot looking for work trying to make it big, away from the farm life. Finally deciding to take his family to Bristol, England, to live their lives as humble farmers, which was not the life his father wanted but was one he knew only of. The family struggled with money, which brought on many stresses to the family, mainly his father Henry. The farming life was not for Edward, as his father was a strict diciplinarian and made Edward work hard on the farm, often starving him when work was not completed in time, and sometimes suffered abuse at the hands of his father. With the stress of trying to run a successful farm and trying to impress the local townsfolk and village elders, Henry turned to alcohol to deal with his problems. When Henry drank, the abuse in the house was often at its worst.
After the passing of his mother, Edward had no reason to stay and so to escape his abusive life, Edward decided to find work on cruise liner ships, as it was the best way for him to separate himself as far from England as possible. Once he accepted the position, he found himself mainly stationed in the Caribbean and the south coastline of the US.
Edward always sought to become wealthy and start a family one day, establishing his own family values, one far different from the home he grew up in. And so he heard of a place wanting to take in new residents in hope of growing that community, and that community was Willow Creek. He had earned enough money working on the ships, that he decided to buy a plot of land for him to begin his new life on, becoming the new founder of the Kenway family. For once in his life, Edward was happy because he found solace in knowing that he was heading towards a life of stability, something he craved all his life. But even though he had found a life that was his own, he knew there was hard work ahead to make his dream come true.
