Due day was approaching and the Kenway household could not wait to welcome the first member to the family, a new Kenway. Mary was ecstatic about being a mother and was all prepared and ready for the arrival. She adjusted to domestic life quite nicely, cooking and cleaning came naturally to her, and so she also started upping her cooking skills, learning and preparing all different kinds of dishes that she would serve to her growing family. Of course Edward loved it, being her personal taste tester, but also it saved time for him to focus on his financial pursuits to gain more money for the household. Mary had the house taken care of, and Edward was now the sole breadwinner.
Married life complimented these two quite nicely, their family roles blended easily, just how most founding families start out. Edward knew he was on the right track to creating the legacy he dreamed of when he first landed on the shores of Willow Creek, and Mary helped with that dream.
Edward and Mary decided to go out on a date one night as their last night as a family of two before they became a family of three, and of course also before the sleepless nights begin. They really wanted to make it special, trying to act like they were on a first date, to recapture the first night they met. It was a successful date night. Before they left the restaurant, Mary was complaining about pain in her stomach, thinking it was the food she ate, but as she would soon found out it was not her stomach, it was contractions, Mary was in labour!
The time came for a new Kenway to be welcomed into this world. Edward had to rush Mary home quickly for her to get ready to give birth. Edward was by her side the whole time during the birth, being the supportive husband and father that he was. And so that night Mary gave birth to a healthy bouncing baby boy. They named him William Edward Kenway.
That date night would be a memorable night for them, as it was the night they became parents. Welcome to the world little William.
