Chapter 1.9 – Bundle Of Joy

Bundle of Joy House

The Kenway house was no longer a quiet place, not with their bundle of joy running around, that is. Edward and Mary definitely had their hands full with little William. As he grew up, it was evident that he took mostly after his father, with his blonde hair and blue eyes, but with some of his mother’s facial features. Being newly made parents was definitely a challenge to them, but they were up for that task.

Bundle of Joy Family

William was growing up nicely, he had lots of things to do on the homestead, with ample ground to run around on and just be wild. And of course, lots of toys and activities in the house to keep his little mind active. He loved to watch Edward working in the garden and tending the plants, and also Mary while she cooked and went about her day in the house. Everything was just fascinating to the little guy, and his parents loved to watch the world through his eyes. Being a parent was a journey in itself.

Bundle of Joy Father and Son

On some days, when Edward would come home to unwind from his day of farming and foraging, William would always run up to him, begging for him to read him a story. And of course, Edward could never say no to that cute little face, seeing his son’s eyes light up brought much joy to his heart.

Bundle of Joy Playtime

Playing with William was an exercise in itself for Edward, as he would just never seem to tire. Mary could already see that Edward took to fatherhood well, and William was already beginning to look up to his father. Which was a good sign for her, as they were already expecting their second child.

Bundle of Joy Playtime 2

They always had time for their son, and William knew it. Edward already was being the father he never had. Giving all the love he had to one person brought him so much happiness, and pretty soon to another bundle of joy. Which made him wonder now more than ever if his father ever felt this way about him.
