Complete Guide To The Sims 4

What Platforms Is The Sims 4 Available On?

The Sims 4 was initially released just for Windows PC in September 2014 with a Mac version for OS X following in February 2015. There was an initial delay on console releases, with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions not hitting shelves until November 2017.

After an initial few months of catch-up, all four platforms are now in sync for DLC releases, which are pushed out at the same time across PC, Mac, and console.

What’s The Difference Between The Sims 4 On PC/Mac And On Console?

Unlike previous releases, The Sims 4 is not a completely different game across platforms. However, while the core gameplay is the same, there are some differences between the two. The following features are not supported on the console versions of the game:

  • Mod Support
  • Custom Content Support
  • Live Events (Such as the Easter Egg Hunt)
  • In-game screen and video capture
  • Ability to tag memories
  • Ability to reminisce

Save games cannot be transferred between game versions.

Is The Sims 4 Free?

Yes! The Sims 4 base game is completely free for all platforms. You will have free access to the core game, as well as all base game updates.

Where Can I Download The Sims 4?
