From making millions in a top-level career to exploring a strange planet in space, The Sims 4 aspirations add great structure to gameplay. There are plenty of options when making your Sim that are fun to play through, but if you’re looking for an extra challenge, there’s a secret aspiration you won’t be able to find in Create-A-Sim: the Grilled Cheese Aspiration.
While it may seem pretty straightforward at first, there are some unexpected elements to face when completing the aspiration. Here is a guide for how to find the aspiration in the game, as well as some tips to help you complete it.
How To Unlock The Aspiration
As mentioned, this aspiration cannot be selected when creating your Sim. To unlock it in gameplay, have your Sim eat three servings of grilled cheese in a row. The recipe is available at level one of the cooking skill.
To save on time, have your Sim cook a medium serving size (which is four servings) and make sure their hunger need is in the red, so they feel full enough to eat all three.
Once they have finished their meal, you will get a notification with an option to select the new aspiration, as well as a new friendly social interaction — a fun bonus. And don’t worry — the progress on your Sim’s current aspiration will be saved, so there is no downside to taking a break from it to complete this one.
Completing The Aspiration
While making grilled cheese is not rocket science, your Sim will need to know how to build a rocket for where they’ll be having dinner. Before you get started on this aspiration, make sure you have a Sim with pretty high skill levels in cooking and rocket science.
Gouda Greenhorn
- Talk about Grilled Cheese with three different Sims
This one is easy enough — just use the new social interaction unlocked with the aspiration with three different Sims. If there are enough Sims in the household, you can start a group conversation and queue up the social interaction with each Sim. No loading screens are required!
Thankfully, they don’t have to be eaten in a row.
Store a couple of servings in the fridge and when your Sim is hungry, they will autonomously grab the leftover grilled cheese to eat.
Cheddar Connoisseur
- Eat ten Grilled Cheeses of Excellent Quality
This is where a high level of cooking comes in handy. To have a higher chance of getting an excellent quality serving, have your Sim cook when they are feeling inspired. If you don’t feel like cooking and have the Dine Out game pack, you can always send your Sim out to a restaurant, where the food is likely to be served at excellent quality.
- Prepare three group servings of Grilled Cheese
Good progress will be made on this part of level two while trying to eat ten servings. Have your Sim select serve lunch/dinner and they will make a group serving.
- Talk about Grilled Cheese with five different Sims
You may have to leave the house for this one. Visit busy community lots, such as parks during the day or bars at night. If your Sim lives in a busy world like San Myshuno, you will be able to easily find five random townies without having to load into another area.
Muenster Maniac
- Eat Grilled Cheese in space
This is where the rocket science skill comes in handy. Have your Sim build a rocket (something they may already have if they have been through the astronaut career) and then send them back to the kitchen to cook a single serving of grilled cheese, which you then have to put in their inventory.
Finally, select the rocket, and you should see a new option: Eat Grilled Cheese Sandwich in Space. Your Sim will soon return from their cheesy mission with this step completed.
- Prepare Grilled Cheese of Excellent Quality
If your Sim made the ten grilled cheeses needed to complete the step in level two, this should be a breeze. All you have to do is select the stove or fridge and have them cook a grilled cheese — business as usual. If the result is deemed excellent, they will have completed this step.
When you reach level 10 in the Gourmet Cooking skill, your Sim will also have the ability to garnish dishes to increase their quality.
- Talk to the Grim Reaper about Grilled Cheese
The final part of the aspiration is a life-and-death situation. There are a few ways to summon Grim to your lot without ending your Sim’s life. At least, not permanently.
The easiest way to get Grim to appear is to have another Sim die on your home lot. You can commit “Simicide” a few ways, but if you want a clean concise there are some other options.
A Sim in the science career can create and drink the Reaper’s Friend serum, or a Spellcaster Sim can drink the potion of Prompt Resurrection. Both will result in your Sim being immediately brought back to life after dying, letting them face Grim without staying on the other side.
The Rewards And How To Use Them
After everything your Sim went through for grilled cheese, they deserve the perfect reward. Upon completing the aspiration, they will receive the Melt Master trait. With this trait, your Sim will be able to immediately summon an excellent quality grilled cheese whenever they want, wherever they want.
Your Sim will not autonomously summon a grilled cheese if their hunger need is low. They will still gravitate towards the kitchen to prepare a meal or eat leftovers. They will only use this skill if you direct them to.
If your Sim happens to have some painting skill, they will also have the ability to create exclusive grilled cheese-themed paintings, which are a great memento to remember their time spent completing this aspiration!
