Thanks to the establishment of the dedicated performance improvement team, The Sims 4 has been getting quite a few updates as of late. The July Laundry List continues this track by focusing on over 60 issues that have come about for packs like My Wedding Stories and High School Years.
This push correlates with Maxis Studios’ mission to enhance the core game experience after receiving fan feedback on several notable problems. Fortunately, things are looking up with this new batch of content, including an overhaul of fixes for My Wedding Stories. Sims have always been known to cause trouble at these parties, but now, they’ll be much more professional with various interactions.
For example, Sims won’t ruin the celebration by eating the wedding cake too early just because they’re hungry. They’ll also be a bit more civilized and not sit on the floor whenever there aren’t enough chairs. Another fix allows players to “Call off the Wedding” during vows if they start getting cold feet. Although this scenario might seem harsh, it does stir up some drama for which The Sims franchise is classically known for.
Other than My Wedding Stories, High School Years received a fix for a specific Aspiration task. The bug previously prohibited some players from getting invited to parties or initiating a sneak-out for the objective. Instead of waiting for this, you can use the “Ask about College Parties ” phone interaction, proceeded by a “Sneak Out” option from an openable window.
Even if you haven’t purchased any expansion packs, the Sims 4 July Laundry List presents a significant number of base game improvements. Specifically, NPCs will no longer join in on conversations when out on a date, as they have previously tried to be the third wheel. Additionally, Sims won’t have the random urge to “Break Up” when they’re in a loving relationship. These fixes will undoubtedly work well with the upcoming Lovestruck EP, featuring a romantic-themed world.
You can look forward to more improvements for The Sims 4, with the following update scheduled around September. Hopefully, the next patch will resolve other lingering problems that haven’t been addressed yet in the July Laundry List.
