The patch notes are out.
The Sims 4 has rolled out a new update that resolves a number of bugs in the High School Years expansion.
Last month’s pack and its corresponding base game update introduced a number of glitches. Some of the biggest ones – such as Sims instantly ageing up and Sims having the desire to date family members – were previously addressed early this month.
But there were still more that some Simmers had been experiencing. This newest patch, available to download now, tackles some of these.

Among the more notable bug fixes in this update, all graduating Sims including those who arrive late now change into and remain in their gowns for the whole graduation event. Any Sims who graduate early won’t be told that they’ve dropped out.
Elsewhere, Sims use their phones less, though teen Sims are still more likely to use their phones more often than Sims at other life stages. There are also some more minor fixes relating to facial hair, detention, pillow fights, and the Social Bunny app.
The majority of the bug fixes for the base game involve Scenarios, so those should be running more smoothly now.

While this latest update addresses some issues, some Simmers report a number of other bugs still affecting their gameplay. It’s worth noting that everyone will have different experiences, but if you wanted to report a problem with the game, you can submit a bug report on EA’s website here.

We’ve personally not come across anything that’s significantly impacted our game in the new expansion (in fact, we enjoyed our time with it), but have had some immersion-breaking moments that don’t appear to be acknowledged by the patch.
As an example, one of our teen Sims was asked out on a date by a teacher. She also received detention after finishing an exam early and standing up from her desk, despite never leaving the classroom.
Last month saw features such as sexual orientation options (including asexual and aromantic Sims), curved walls, and body hair being added to the game for all players.
The developer also confirmed that lifespan lengths had been altered.
The Sims 4 High School Years is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
